Our Studio

Hot Yoga has all kinds of benefits. The one that's touted most often is detoxification: heavy sweating is said to help flush toxins from the skin. The heat also allows you to go a little more deeply and safely into the postures, so you know you're really warming up the muscles and you can really approach the postures from a safe place. Working in a heated room also elevates the heart rate, which makes the body work harder. It's really for people who want a more intense workout, those who want to develop strength, flexibility and tone along with a cardiovascular workout. Working in heat helps the body relax, improves breathing (which helps conditions like asthma) and focuses the mind, which develops better mental concentration.

Our Yoga

If increasing the quality of your life appeals to you then Hot Yoga Fusion is the place to be. We have an absolute passion for what we do and a genuine joy in seeing the development of students that come to us. Hot Yoga Fusion brings to Wanaka a community of yoga for all walks of life. We offer a variety of classes to suit complete beginners to the more advanced practitioner, at regular times, all in the one central location. We incorporate fun, experience, knowledge, alignment, challenge and compassion into our teaching.

Power Yoga / Vinyasa

| 33°C

For those people who want cardio fitness within their yoga class. This class is based on movement through breath. The flowing style suits all levels (including new Yogi's) starting with grounding & sun salutations warm up, before moving to the standing & floor series. The class will work you hard. Expect to sweat, bring a big towel & come hydrated.

Yin Yoga

| 30°C

A slow-paced style of yoga with postures that are held for comparatively long periods of time; five minutes or longer per pose is typical. Often completed with a Yoga Nidra, guided relaxation. This class is fabulous for sports people as the focus is more on release through the connective tissue & joints & has a lovely meditative aspect. Most people are inclined to leave feeling super relaxed & even a little bit taller.

Fusion Yoga

| 34 - 37°C

The Fusion Class is a combination of 3 styles of yoga. Starting with Vinyasa 1/3 of the class before moving to a varied selection of the Bikram series (1/3), winding down with Yin poses before moving to final Shavasana. Temperature around 38° it's a good idea to bring a towel. You are likely to sweat & work hard before winding down nicely.

Astanga Yoga

| 33°C

A lead class of most of the Astanga Primary Series. Working through the Mysore Style Astanga series up to Narvanasa (boat pose) before moving to part of the finishing series. Vinyasa style class suitable for all levels, slow moving, directed class, focusing on breath & alignment. The Astanga Class is the same sequence each time, with small variation at the end.
